Rigid Design
The X-IT ladder is probably the safest portable fire escape ladder in the world. Its semi-rigid design of inter-locking sections stops the ladder from swaying and swinging. The steel rungs have stand-offs that keep the feet safely off the wall. The ladder is made in the UK from zinc-plated steel and is independently tested to withstand a distributed load of 450kg (1000 lbs)
Adjustable hooks
The adjustable hooks fit over most walls and can even be used if there is a radiator on the inside of the wall. The solid hooks also offer a good handhold.
- The ladder is suitable for walls up to 20 inches (51cm) thickness.
- The width of the rungs and frame is 12 inches (30 cm)

In an emergency lift the ladder out of the box, place it over the wall and pull the release toggle, the ladder will then automatically unfold and the sections will inter-lock.
Please note: Once released the ladder becomes a rigid unit and is best re-packed by laying it flat on the floor at full length. This can be difficult for the longer lengths. We therefore recommend that you do NOT practise the deployment and the escape with this ladder! You should, however, practise the application of the hooks over the wall to get used to the handling of the ladder.
